Creative Workshops

Our studios are led by trained artists who support the artists to develop their ideas and skills, and run art workshops to explore artistic techniques and ideas. We make everything accessible, and we individualise the workshops for our artists so that everyone can get involved on their own terms whether that's using paint or textiles, making digital art or building sculptures.
Anything is possible!

Every day at ArtWorks is different, with a mix of staff-led workshops and time to work on your own projects. We supply the materials and we are guided by what the artists are interested in.

We also visit exhibitions and events with the artists to be inspired by other artists work, and we take creativity to the max with creative cooking sessions, film-making workshops, text

Workshops take place Monday-Friday each week in our community art studios in Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield. Explore Studios

Exhibitions & Events

We don't just make work - we share it!
Our artists work deserves to be seen and enjoyed, which is why we work with Galleries, Arts Organisations and Community Venues to produce group and individual exhibitions. In 2026 we produced an International Festival exhibition at Millennium Gallery Sheffield with over 40,000 visitors, as well as exhibitions at Barnsley Civic, Cambridge Street Collective and Thorpe Hesley Community Centre.

Murals

ArtWorks murals can be seen in spaces and places across South Yorkshire. Muralling is a great way for our artists to express themselves, work collaboratively and contribute to the happiness of local communities. We are regularly approached and commissioned to create murals in public and private spaces including Maltby's Coronation Park, Theatre Deli, Cambridge Street Collective and Tuxford Underpass. Find out more about our murals here.

Supporting our artists to work to a professional brief is great experience, so get in touch if you have an idea you'd like to discuss.
